As US troops were introduced to the RECONDO "finishing school" in Nha Trang for jungle recon and warfare, the North Vietnamese would soon have to adjust their tactics and doctrine to counter these new efforts against them in the field.
The result of that effort is the NVA Sapper School: an intensive and rugged instructional school to teach those comrades that the Party deemed worthy to be their elite troops in the fields and jungles of South Vietnam, to fight the Americans for national salvation.
HMSG's NVA Sapper School will recreate the curriculum and course work of those schools. Part living history, part educational instruction, part in-practice tactical simulation - the NVA Sapper School will take participants back to the war where all involved will wear period correct clothing and equipment, learn from a cadre of real military veterans, and take what is learned in the outdoor classrooms and put into bloody practice against a live enemy.
"The Party has much confidence in you, comrade! The Party assigns you to a difficult task but the Party trusts you!"
"One Party! One Vietnam!"
Sappers were specially trained to attack Free World areas and base camps. They used specialized tactics and extensive reconnaissance and intelligence to breach US and ARVN defenses. But most importantly, Sapper School graduates were the best of the best of North Vietnam, and served as leaders and often in non-commissioned officer roles among the ranks of North Vietnamese forces fighting for the liberation of the south.
